Translating Scratch Materials

Below you will find source files for the Scratch Support materials. You can look for previously translated versions on the Languages page. To translate Scratch software or website, go to the main Translation page.

The latest version of Scratch is 1.4 (released in July 2009). If you have translated a document for Scratch 1.4, please email it to us at helpatscratch [dot] mit [dot] edu so we can make it available to everyone. You can use the same address to ask questions (English only). To discuss translations in your language, post questions in the "Scratch in Other Languages" forum. Thank you very much for your help!

The Scratch 1.4 Reference Guide is currently available for editing in Adobe InDesign or as an HMTL file.

For translation, replace the images with screen captures of Scratch software with the interface set to your language. Or right click on an empty portion of the Scratch script area and select "save picture of scripts."

The Getting Started Guide is now available for editing in your choice of three different formats: InDesign; Word; and OpenOffice.

For translation, replace the images with screen captures of Scratch software with the interface set to your language.

For the cover page, you may want to use the Scratch font.

You can use Adobe Photoshop or Adobe FireworksGIMP or other PSD compatible image software to edit the 1.4 PSD files.

For translation, replace the images of the code with screen captures of Scratch software with the interface set to your language.

The 1.2 files are in PNGs format that is editable in Fireworks.

One Page Handouts
